Miter Sled (part 2)

I picked up pre-cut 2x4s at the hardware store for the sled fences. I measured and cut them down to length of the plywood. The rails needed a good sanding to get any glue from the push out. I ended up just pulling the finishing nails because it felt like they did their job.

I want to send them through the bench top sander to ensure that they are flat. Since I have a small shop, I need to coordinate a lot of my tasks; so, I’ll be planing down the sled boards at the same time as the walnut cutting boards. After that, I will get them clamped against the plywood. I look forward to doing the first 45 cut through them.
